Marques Keith Brownlee was born December 3, 1993 and is also known professionally as MKBHD. He is an American YouTuber and professional ultimate frisbee player, best known for his technology-focused videos as well as his podcast Waveform.
As of December 2023, he has more than 20 million subscribers across all channels and 3.93 billion total video views. Vic Gundotra, a former senior vice president of Google, called Brownlee “the best technology reviewer on the planet”

This past week, Tech YouTuber @MKBHD, announced that he just signed a 4 year, $1 Million Dollar contract with the wallet company Ridge.
For $250k/yr + equity, Marques will be the Chief Creative Partner and the face of the brand. In exchange, Ridge is giving Marques the opportunity to launch quality physical products that are perfect for his target audience
Could Ridge try to build their own brand on social media to reach millions? Sure.
But they would have to spend a lot time/resources growing a dedicated audience (which studies have proven that is harder to do as a corporate facing brand). Both brands are able to leverage each other and likely make more money together than they would alone,
Owning 100% of 0 is still 0. Partnerships that are equally beneficial, where everyone involved brings value to the table.. wins every time. I rather have a piece of a watermelon, than a whole grape.
