Shocking Conclusion from UK Government’s Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities. Meeting Called.

There is ‘no evidence of institutional racism’ in Britain, according to report by UK Government’s Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities

The commission was formed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the wake of worldwide Black Lives Matter protests last summer. Its first report suggests that while Britain is not a ‘post-racial society’, it can be seen as a beacon for other white-majority countries in terms of parity in education and the economy. There is criticism of some of the findings, including the claim that, while there was anecdotal evidence of racism, the commission found no evidence of ‘actual institutional racism’

Can we just say that the headline ‘no evidence of institutional racism’ in Britain – is a load of rubbish and this has been taken by right wing newspapers as fact. They have got this wrong.

Sadly these newspapers will be searched in the archives of history and the contents taken as fact. The black community is angry, upset, disappointed – but not surprised. We knew Tony Sewell’s politics before the report was published and sure enough his footprint is all over this report.

This is the entire committee who compiled this disaster of a report. They are professionals at the top of their game which comes with its own privilege. They are far removed from what the ordinary black people are experiencing – and they just showed their ignorance by producing this whitewash report which is full of gaslighting. The contents will please the likes of Boris Johnson, Priti Patel and Minera Mirza – but it has shocked and upset the black community. Don’t minimise our experience.

The Committee – that produced this travesty.

We have lost respect for these people. This document feels like it will set us back 100 years. Did they all actually see the final report?

We will be providing a full response over the next week. We will identify if there is any useful or positive information worth noting. And will call out – line by line what should never have been placed in this report. Parts of the report are also contradictory – as if different people wrote different parts but the conclusion was written by one person who had an axe to grind. He/She started with a conclusion and ensured that whatever was in the report pointed towards their chosen end.

In the meantime – we are holding a virtual meeting on Wednesday 7th April at 6.30pm. Check this page for further details, or sign up for our newsletter.

Inequality between different ethnic groups may be caused by other factors, according to the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities

Bloomberg
UK Not structurally Racist.
A report commissioned by PM Boris Johnson rejects the idea the U.K. is structurally racist although “overt and outright racism persists,” particularly online

Radio 4
“No one in the report is saying racism doesn’t exist,” commission chairman Tony Sewell tells Radio 4, but “the evidence of actual institutional racism, that wasn’t there, we didn’t find that in our report”.

LBC
Racism in this country “is diminishing”, says Dr Samir Shah, who co-authored the report which finds the UK to be ‘a model to the world’ on diversity.

Times Radio
‘We haven’t found any evidence of institutional racism in the civil service as yet.’

Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, from Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities, says there are ”a number of factors” behind differences in ethnic recruitment.

Financial Times
A report will recommend that organisations should work ‘to develop resources and evidence-based approaches’ to improve workplace equality, rather than funding unconscious bias training

Some sense…

For my own mental well-being I am not doing media interviews on the race commission today. Like so many in Britain’s Black community I’m tired! Tired of the endless debate about whether structural racism exists with little desire to actually address it. We are being gaslighted.

Shadow foreign secretary Lisa Nandy

There is an institutional problem
It would be a “real shame” if the government was to “downplay or deny” the findings from the new equality report and not get on the “front foot” of tackling racism in the UK.

Well – Johnson said he wanted a different narrative from BLM . This one’s called slave-ship nostalgia.

Good to flag positive educational outcomes. Anybody flagging the school exclusion stats and seriously claiming no problems there?

Myself and other British Caribbeans are not surprised. They always tokenise these British Asians/Africans to help them gaslight and cause further divisions in our communities across the country.

Also having the token gaslighters to be the “voice” of British Caribbeans to whitewash our history and teach that oh yes the British just wanted to teach black people their culture – really?! all whilst chasing off the spaniards (because I wish we thought of this first), raping, torturing and killing men, women, children and sending the men to work on one side of the island and only allowing them back to procreate with the women for the sole purpose of producing more enslaved people. All whilst sending the money back home to build England.

This is a slap in the face, especially as this same government is the one who have treated the windrush generation like absolute shit, people are still having their lives turned around and being told to prove they are British.

Americans call your Token gaslighters Uncle Toms

I forgot about Uncle Ruckus and Aunt Thomasina

Sorry I’m African. I’ve never heard of us being tokenised. Can you explain?

They’re taking a Black person who supports their white supremacy and using them as the voice to speak for all Black people.

Absolutely disgusting and not in the least surprising coming from the Tories.

Lol, this is what happens when people who deny the existence of racism are put in charge of checking themselves. The UK, and Europe as a whole invented slavery and profited from it and now wants to pat themselves on the back because “it wasn’t all bad and some good came from it!”

These are not leaders, these are puppets and clowns ~ Malcolm X #racialjustice #BlackLivesMatter

No.10 really wasted taxpayers money just so they could gaslight an entire nation of black people.

Haunted by historic racism….I’m so offended… so tired

This fits the story the government want to tell to ease them self of the burden of truth whilst congratulating themselves….A role model for other countries…not yet but we could be….one day🤞🏾
